About the Cradle Mountain 2 Day Explorer Tour
Day 1: Depart Launceston from your accommodation and travel to Cradle Mountain National Park on McDermott’s fully guided day tour.
Enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Great Western Tiers and the remarkable murals at Sheffield depicting the history of the Cradle Valley on the way.
On arrival at Cradle Mountain you have the opportunity to visit Dove Lake with spectacular views of Cradle Mountain, see beautiful rainforests at Waldheim Chalet and enjoy the cascading waterfalls of the National Park.
Mid-afternoon you will be transferred to your pre-arranged accommodation and have the opportunity to enjoy the unique wilderness surrounds and perhaps put plans in place to join the evening Night with the Animals Tour.
Day 2: Enjoy a free morning to re visit the Cradle Mountain National Park at your leisure utilising the services of the complimentary shuttle service from the Visitors Centre.
Mid-afternoon you will be picked up from your accommodation and join a fully guided tour travelling back to Launceston arriving at approximately 5.30pm

About the Cradle Mountain Day Tour
Take one of the many short walks through the ever-changing vegetation of the shores and mountainside to gain a full appreciation of the magic of this area.
See amazing waterfalls, rainforest and visit Dove Lake with remarkable views of Cradle Mountain.
Enjoy spectacular walks including the Enchanted Forest to see the King Billy Pine Forests which are thousands of years old.
Discover the distinctive flora which is endemic to this area of Tasmania and which produce magnificent displays of colour from gold to deep red.
Visit the Waldheim Chalet, the forest home of Austrian born Gustav Weindorfer who pioneered the Cradle Mountain region in the early 1900’s and had the vision to preserve the Park “for the people for all time”.
Opportunity to see our famous native wild life such as Wombats, Potoroos and Wallabies.
Travel through historical towns and visit Sheffield to view the stunning town murals.
Visit Ashgrove Cheese Farm to sample some of Tasmania’s finest cheeses.
Lunch is not provided but there are opportunities to purchase food and beverages during the tour. Tour includes: National Park entrance fee and complimentary pick up from accommodation.

Join us as we take you to breathtaking Dove Lake to view the majestic Cradle Mountain. See the alpine flora and fauna that flourish in this pristine environment. Be surrounded by Button grass plains, temperate rainforest and King Billy Pines, thousands of years old.
Visit Waldheim and hear the stories of early settlers, Gustauv and Kate Weindorfer and see how they lived in the early 1900’s. Enjoy a short forest walk to view the last of the King Billy Pines.
Departs from the Cradle Mountain Transit Centre. Pickup from hotels is available.
About A Night with the Animals
See Australia’s amazing native wildlife at it's best in the comfort of our custom 4WD coach.
In the company of your friendly, experienced guides you have the opportunity to see and learn of Tasmania's famous Wallabies, Possums, Tasmanian Devils and Wombats in no better way than their wild, natural habitat.
You just never know what you may see and what Mother Nature will have to offer you.
The Night with the Animals tour can be combined with a visit to Devils at Cradle.
Departs from the Cradle Mountain Transit Centre. Pickup from hotels is available.

About the Cradle Mountain Service Run
McDermott's Coaches operates a regular bus service between Launceston and Cradle Mountain
Departing Launceston at 8:30am: Travels via the old highway, arriving at Cradle Mountain at approximately 11:20am.
Departing Cradle Mountain 2:30 to 3pm: Travels via the Bass Highway, arriving in Launceston at approximately 5:30pm.
Operates every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday (except Christmas Day and Good Friday).
Private charters are available if regular service times are not suitable.
